This project aimed to practically apply the 12 fundamental principles of animation through the creation of a bouncing ball. The animation developed runs through an obstacle course, exploring concepts such as Squash & Stretch, Timing & Motion, Slow In & Slow Out and Follow Through & Overlapping Action. The stylistic choice fell on a ball with malleable characteristics, allowing for more fluid and dynamic movement, maintaining a balance between realism and visual appeal.
The development of the project involved in-depth research into reference animations and the historical evolution of this classic exercise in learning animation. Animation has been refined through the Graph Editor, ensuring smooth transitions and convincing physics. Furthermore, the interaction with secondary elements, such as pendulums and moving platforms, enriched the composition of the scene.
The final result exceeded initial expectations, standing out for the fluidity of the movement and the rigor in the application of animation principles. The feedback received throughout the process contributed significantly to improving the work, consolidating its technical and narrative quality.
